Friends of Karen Hamilton
In recognition of the life and contributions of an exceptional business and community leader, the family, friends and colleagues of Karen Hamilton have generously chosen to establish the Karen Hamilton Outstanding Future Leader Memorial Scholarship at the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
The scholarship will honor the memory of Ms. Hamilton, a business and civic leader, entrepreneur and mentor to many, whose 30-year career left a deep impression on a host of colleagues, clients and friends.
Ms. Hamilton earned her MBA from Rockhurst University and served as the Director of Customer and Business Focus for Midland-Grau in Kansas City before co-founding Paragon Business Solutions in 1997.
She brought more than 30 years of experience in business management systems, quality processes, organizational development, training, marketing, and strategic planning to the start-up company, which today provides business management systems, environmental health and safety management and construction management services to a diverse portfolio of clients in the government and private sectors.
In keeping with the wishes of Ms. Hamilton’s family, friends and colleagues, the Karen Hamilton Outstanding Future Leader Memorial Scholarship shall be awarded to an undergraduate student who embodies the leadership qualities Ms. Hamilton valued and demonstrated in abundance throughout her life: courage, optimism, self-motivation, professionalism, innovation, charisma, tenacity and performance excellence.
