Cardinal Newman Scholars Alumni Association Scholarship

CARDINAL NEWMAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND PURPOSE
The purpose of the Cardinal Newman Scholarship Fund is
 To provide scholarship funds for Catholic Students attending Missouri S&T
 To promote Church ministry and provide Christian leadership opportunities
Scholarship amount is based on available funds, with the amount split evenly between fall and spring semesters.

CRITERIA
To be eligible to receive the Cardinal Newman Scholarship the student must:
 Be a registered Newman student and active in their Catholic faith, as well as desire to be a leader in the Church community.
 Be willing to commit time and service to Newman Center or St. Patrick Parish as discussed with, and determined by the Campus Minister.
 Volunteer at least 2 hours per week at the Newman Center or St. Patrick Parish as discussed with, and determined by the Campus Minister.
 Complete the questions on this application.

SPECIFICS:
Scholarship amount is based on available funds, with the amount split evenly between fall and spring semesters.
 As of this application date the student must have at least a 2.5 Cumulative GPA;
 Be enrolled in at least twelve (12) academic hours per semester;
 Must fulfill volunteer obligation.
SELECTION
Applicants will be selected by the Cardinal Newman Scholarship Committee appointed by the Newman Advisory Board.
PAYMENT OF SCHOLARSHIPS
The appropriate Missouri S&T officials will be informed of the recipients of this scholarship. Half of the scholarship will be disbursed at the beginning of the Fall semester and the other half at the beginning of the Spring semester.
NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED
The intention of the Newman Center is to award one to three scholarships each year. The actual number of awards will be contingent upon the amount of funds available that support these awards.
